Packages Project

This project particularly deals with choosing the packages, fixing the bugs, notifying the upstream and handling localization problems. Packagers are expected to read the New Developer's Guide before applying for a SVN account.

Application selection, error correction, resolving problems peculiar to the languages Pardus Linux supports, gathering information needed by PiSi and COMAR and packaging in those information are all in scope of this project.

We believe that instead of having lots of packages which will never be installed by the end user, it's efficient to keep a basic set of software with assured quality. Pardus project has more than 1700 PiSi packages as of this writing, and this number is growing as more package requests have been received by Pardus developers.
